  • Veterans are asked to go to the Mills County Treasurer with a copy of their DD214 to apply.

  • Your DD 214 must be recorded at the Mills County Recorder’s Office. After you have recorded your DD 214, please contact the Assessor’s Office to make an appointment with them. All eligible veterans may receive $4,000 off the assessed value of their primary residence. If a veteran is married to another eligible veteran, both veterans may apply this benefit to their primary residence. Any veteran who is service-connected, rated at 100% by the Veterans Affairs office will pay no taxes on their home.
